Lavonne J. Adams received the Pearl Poetry Prize for her collection Through the Glorieta Pass (Pearl Editions). She hasalso published the award-winning chapbooks Everyday Still Life and In the Shadow of the Mountain. Her work has appeared in Prairie Schooner, Missouri Review, Poet Lore and Tampa Review. She completed residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, and the Harwood Museum of Art (University of New Mexico-Taos). She is the current Gilbert-Chappell Distinguished Poet for Eastern North Carolina.
