Block Elizabeth Block is the author of the award-winning novel, A Gesture Through Time and the poetry book, Celluloid Salutations. A Gesture Through Time was written under fiscal sponsorship of Intersection for the Arts, San Francisco and was considered for feature film adaptation by an Independent NYC film company. Her short stories, poetry, drama, essays, art and book reviews have been extensively published, in print, on stage, in film, podcast and composed music. Elizabeth has performed her writing across the United States. Elizabeth has also published her work in a Lannan Foundation funded art catalog and her work has appeared on KQED and other public radio affiliates. Also a filmmaker, Elizabeth has received numerous awards and fellowships, including a Doris Roberts/William Goyen fiction fellowship from the Christopher Isherwood Foundation, from PEN American Center, Poets & Writers, Djerassi Resident Artists Program, Sigma Xi Society for Scientific Research, and others.
