Bill Robens has authored several hit shows, including The Poseidon Adventure: the Musical (co-written with Genemichael Barrera and featured in the Fox Movie Channel documentary “Cult Culture: the Poseidon Adventure”), The Towering Inferno: the Musical (co-written with Steve Marca), the comedy variety show, A Fish Without His Flippers and the perennial Hollywood favorite, A Mulholland Christmas Carol which earned Bill an L.A. Weekly Award for Best Adaptation.
He also co-scripted with Kiff Scholl the Eurospy thriller/comedy, Scream of the Bikini - appearing at the Thrillspy International Film Festival in Washington, DC, October 8. His current production, Kill Me, Deadly has been playing to sold out houses at Theatre of NOTE in Hollywood for three months and is scheduled to close October 3rd.
A Mulholland Christmas Carol premiered at Theatre of NOTE in December 2002, directed by Kiff Scholl. It won the Best Comedy Ensemble and Best Adapation LA Weekly Awards. It has since been produced over six seasons at NOTE, the Sacred Fools Theatre and in the towns of Lone Pine and Bishop, California. EntertainmentToday called it “a magnificent achievement,” and Backstage West stated “In a funnier, oh, I'll say it, perfect world A Mulholland Christmas Carol would be as traditional to the Los Angeles holiday season as, say, the Holiday Christmas Parade.”
