Paul Corman-Roberts interview with Meg Tuite
Anything you would like to share with our readers about the inspiration for this story?
I wanted to give a quick peek into the more romantic side of California's "traveler" culture, which isn't always so ideal.
Do you have a writing schedule you adhere to and/or any tricks you might want to share with your readers?
The best trick for me is to have other projects or ideas to escape into when I get stuck on a project, but otherwise I don't work on a schedule. The muse strikes when the muse strikes.
What book/books are you reading at this time?
Same one everyone else is; Freedom by Jonathan Franzen. But also working through the Journal of Albion Moonlight by Kenneth Patchen.
Name the top two or three most influential writers of your writing career and maybe a line or two telling us why.
Genre crossing absurdists and surrealists like Kenneth Patchen and Italo Calvino are among my favorites because of their bold reimaginings of the world, but I also like the plain spoken drama of writers like Denis Johnson and Mary Gaitskill.
