Jordan Jordan Merenick is a 22-year-old, senior creative writing student at Waynesburg University. When he is not busy writing intense fiction, Jordan occupies himself with faith biased nonfiction, and volunteering at various youth groups at churches. He would like to thank God for giving him a small measure of talent, his mom for her love and schooling during his childhood, his girlfriend Tiffany for her love as well, the kids he works with, for their friendship, and lastly to Ken Robidoux, for this opportunity.

Welcome lovers of nonfiction. My name is Jordan Merenick, and I am the guest editor for this upcoming issue, and it’s been quite a wild ride. When I was first told back in January that I would be a nonfiction editor for this student-led project, I was extremely excited about it. I’ve really learned a lot about the highs and lows of online publishing, and I wouldn’t have traded it for the world.

I am honored to have a written interview and a piece named Hurricane Kit by Waynesburg University Professor Jill Moyer Sunday. We are also pleased to publish a former contributor Jessie Carty, who has once again decided to grace us with her newest nonfiction piece titled Frog Legs and Baby Godzilla. Another returning contributor is Sarah Hulyk, who was previously published in this magazine as a featured undergrad. I have also had the opportunity to get to know Sarah while taking classes at Waynesburg University. For this issue, she has written a piece all about the experience of Mardi Gras. Furthermore, it is a privilege to introduce to you, the readers of this magazine, some of the fellow students whom I have had the pleasure to sit with in class. I have also had the pleasure to read their writing. These fellow students of mine, Rene Wiltrout and Jonnell Liebl, both have written unique nonfiction pieces that display their talents as up-and-coming writers. I hope you enjoy this collection of writings.
